Acer Predator 15 G9-591-70XR Review

Predator emerges as a gaming brand.

The gaming fever seems to be living a great moment. Much it is so, that no brand has wanted to miss out this opportunity and has all joined the trend.

One of the most notable cases is Acer, which until now has concentrated in offering mid-range laptops at a very competitive price. To break with this image as older brands have done in the past, they have developed the Predator family to differentiate themselves from range-computers, with their own nomenclature and personality.

And now we’re going to make inside the first truly portable gaming laptop of the brand an analysis of the Acer Predator 15. We don’t count anymore with an unremarkable design that goes unnoticed, and its features are light years ahead from the rest of the laptops of the brand.

Acer Predator 15

Among the features of the Acer Predator 15, we count with a pointer hardware with an Intel i7 6th generation processor along with a NVIDIA GTX 980M graphic card, also with a primary 256 GB SSD with a 1 TB secondary disk.

It also counts with 16 GB of RAM DDR4 memory that can enlarge itself to 64 GB. We also have a series of innovating features in the cooling system which we will mention next and what makes it so attractive. The predators have come to give a good bite to the market.

Design

If you had to draw in your mind an Acer laptop, the image that you would have would certainly be different from this chassis. We can see how it has made a great effort to make a chassis with very innovating lines, and we can say that it has managed to have its own personality.

The VPN is safe, but not infallible

Lately VPN has been in the spotlight. On one side, as a measure to protect itself upon attempts of espionage: are encrypted tunnels (in most cases) that keep someone from knowing what we are looking on Internet if, for example, we connect to public WiFi networks or we do not trust our ISP.

Unfortunately, and as usually happens in computing, they are not infallible. We have a sample in the failure we’ve seen this week that affected Firefox and Chrome, and that revealed the real IP of the user through RTC. And it’s not the only one.

How does a VPN work?

VPN

A VPN it’s a little like a Portal: instead of going out through the door of your room, you open a portal and walk out the door of another site.

Razer Diamondback Gaming Mouse Review

Razer Diamondback Gaming Mouse

When you have been dedicated to a game for a while, you get the hang of it and you knows how to respond to each situation almost instantaneously, and to show that knowledge, skill and hours of play, you need your tools respond as due.

There is no need to have pro-grade peripherals, but a minimum of quality with which to fight your enemies to death almost without them knowing what hit them, and when you play at a certain level online, that requires pinpoint accuracy and speed. You will find all these requirements met in the Razer Diamondback, a great fellow on the playing field.

Features

The Razer Diamondback mouse is 12.5 cm long, 5 cm wide and 1.2 cm high, big enough for a hand to cover it just right, though I did wanted a little more height to finish embracing the mouse completely with my hand. It does not have the ability to vary its weight so it is always kept at 90g, which is just enough for it not look like a toy mouse. Finally, it has a cable of 2.1 meters in length, something I appreciated since the PC I have it’s located a bit far away from the mouse pad.

Acer Convertible Chromebook R11 Review (11.6-inch HD Touchscreen Notebook)

A Sheet of Aluminum tops the back of the Acer Chromebook R11’s screen. This is probably the only noble detail in a product that neither hides nor is ashamed of its humble conception and modest benefits. But for a price around 300 dollars little more can be asked of this hybrid between a laptop and tablet operating under Chrome OS. Let’s not forget: it’s a Chromebook and from Acer, an excellent utilitarian firm.

The chromebook market begins to show signs of saturation. There are many companies that have jumped onboard the bandwagon of computers running Google’s operation system and whose philosophy is to always be connected. Asus, Dell, Toshiba, HP and obviously Google have already shown their cards.

And one thing has become clear: with the exception of a few cases in which the price seems like a rocket heading towards a galaxy of millionaires, the idea here it communing decent benefits -such as a battery that holds a full work session- with attractive prices. The Acer Chromebook R11 tries to wager battle in this area.

Laptop and Tablet Computer

The first thing that draws the attention in the Chromebook R11 is its successful minimalist and functional design. Elegant lines, a thickness of 2 centimeters and a weight -somewhat convincing- of 1.25 kilos. Despite this last detail, it is really a convenient and affordable product, of those that liked to be carried around (if you aren’t the typical fanboy of certain brands with allergy to more functional products).
