When renovating our PC many of us have had to choose, in certain occasions, to buy second hand components, a market that can serve us as a scape valve when we don´t have enough budget to face the cost of a renovation with new components or we simply don’t want to make that investment because we’re only looking to extend a little the useful life of the device until we can change it completely.

However, the market for second hand components is an authentic jungle, and not only because of the prices, but also because we take the chance of acquiring a product that is in bad condition or that doesn’t work properly, so we must proceed very carefully.

Obviously this doesn’t change the fact that it is an interesting market in which we can find very attractive solutions and at a good price that can be very helpful, but as we said we have to proceed carefully, search exhaustively and mostly, have a clear approximate value that is fair to pay for what we are searching for.

Crucial finally announces their first SSDs M.2 NVMe

It was already unusual for a manufacturer with the category and history of Crucial (which is actually a Micron Technology brand) not to have last generation solid state devices in its catalog, but fortunately that is over as it just announced its new generation of high-performance SSDs with M.2 format and which use the NVMe protocol, using a PCI-Express interface.

You know that since long time ago the SSDs with SATA 3 interface reached their performance limit, which is why manufacturers of storage devices had to look for other alternatives to further improve and they found in the PCI-Express lanes the ideal solution, thanks to their high bandwidth (they use a PCI-Express rail of 32 Gb/s). Of course it was difficult to use this interface with the usual format of 2.5 inches, so the M.2/U.2 format is now the chosen one thanks to the small space it occupies and to its versatility (with M.2 SSDs variants and an adapter which connects directly to a PCI-Express x4 of the motherboard).

Asus transformer 3 aims against Samsung and Huawei in windows 10 tablets.

Transformer 3 is a similar equipment to Transformer Pro 3, but with differences that make it s more economic and not so “premium” as is attempted with the Pro model. It uses the most traditional format of a tablet with windows 10 and less of a hybrid, but maintains elements such as a magnetic connected keyboard that turns it into a laptop.

This tablet has a metallic design and 6.9mm thickness, with a weight of 695 grams. It lacks of a kickstand and hinge that keeps in a vision angle while writing.
