Samsung CFG70, a gaming monitor with quantum dot technology

All major brands are doing big presentations of high-end monitors for gamers, and although it was LG which recently it introduced its new ultra-wide models of monitors, it is now Samsung’s turn with a new model, the CFG70.

This gaming monitor from Samsung has the distinctive feature of using Quantum Dot technology, present in high-end TVs of the brand, like the KS9000, and that allows us to have superior contrast and color quality to that we are accustomed to, even higher than IPS panels.

Talking specifically the Samsung CFG70 monitor is able to play a 125% sRGB spectrum, with a contrast of 3000:1, very high values that are not too far from the values offered by the Super AMOLED panels. The curvature of the monitor with a radius of 1800R and a viewing angle of 178° allow a more natural and color lossless display, having a complementary LED light to improve the visual experience.

But having a high image quality is not enough to make it a good gaming monitor, it also has to be fast. And the CFG70 is fast, with a refresh rate of 144Hz, and also it is compatible with AMD FreeSync technology. Thanks to this, we can avoid the annoying screen tearing.

Input lag is another essential factor in a gaming monitor, and here we have a response time of 1 ms, minimizing screen transitions of moving objects.

In the words of Seog-gi Kim, vice president of Visual Display Division of Samsung, “The CFG70 series monitor makes gamers feel as if they are part of the action, and is the most powerful and visually appealing Samsung curved monitor to date”.

We expect it to be available immediately in physical and electronic stores, with the price of the Samsung CFG70 at 350$ for the 24″ version, and 399€ for the 27” version.
